Abstract
A plerocercoid of the family Phyllobothriidae is reported and described from two specimens of the oar-fish. This larval cestode probably belongs to the genus Phyllobothrium Van Beneden, 1850. A possible cause for the occurrence of four specimens of the oar-fish along the lower west coast of Florida within a period of 60 hours is suggested.
