Abstract
This paper discusses the vertical distribution of Sagitta elegans, Calanus finmarchicus and Metridia lucens during the hours of light and darkness as found in two investigations on the south coast of Ireland in the month of August in 1931 and 1932 by means of serial vertical townet hauls at short intervals in depths from 100-125m.
