Abstract
    Landings in Belgian ports as well as in foreign ports showed a decrease of resp. 7 and 32% compared with 1975. As a result the total production in 1976 (39,036T) was 9% less than in 1975.Notwithstanding a decline in the landed weight the total first hand value rose, an increase of 9% almost entirely due to the first hand value of sole. As a whole, 1976 was a better year for the catching side of the industry than 1975.
