Abstract
    The paper is dedicated to 7000 DWT MV "Heydar Aliyev"- the first in a history of Russian shipbuilding multi-purpose dry-cargo vessels of restricted navigation area (RNAV) with self rudder propellers. In this paper the technical-economic characteristics of MV "Heydar Aliyev" were analysed in comparison with most effective of existing Russian RNAV and already built new designs types. Also characteristics of existing vessels after increasing cargo capacity and modernized under MEB projects were taken into account.
