Abstract
Sea bass postlarvae and juveniles, obtained in two hatcheries, and wild sea bass fry were examined to count meristic characters and to identify anatomical details of anomalies in the vertebral axis, vertebrae and attached elements, and in fins. Their frequency of occurrence in the different populations and their comparative frequency in different vertebral regions and fins are given. Wild were considered as control. The objective of this study is to contribute to the identification of specific anatomical descriptors useful to set up morphological quality criteria.
