Abstract
In this work the optimal temperature range for embryonic and larval development of sea bass, Dicentrarchus labrax L., is investigated. Hatching rate was maximal (76%) from 16 to 20°C. Eggs didn't hatch at 24°C. The growth rates and yolk sac absorption increased with the increase in temperature. The yolk volume decrease was highest at 16°C. Above 20°C, mortality and abnormalities increased strongly.
