Abstract
The paper deals with wide-ranging aspects of risk management in aquaculture. In particular, it covers the place of risk management in planning, production, processing, marketing and in other disciplines and parameters the aquaculture has to follow. Many practical examples of risk management are given and the paper emphasises the need for detailed research to be done on risk management at all levels of aquaculture. The perspective offered on the subject is that viewed by an experienced insurance man who has been involved in the aquaculture industry, and many of its disasters, for over 14 years.
