Abstract
Two consecutive grow-out experiments of the tiger prawn Penaeus monodon were carried out for 1 year in a highly-intensive system. The postlarval prawns (PL 13-15) and PL20-22 were cultured in three 0.14ha concrete ponds with an earthen bottom at a stocking density of 124 and 143 postlarvae.m.-2. The prawns were fed four times a day with commercially formulated feed and trash fish. The yield was 8 811kg from the first trial of 183 days and 5 760kg from the second trial of 177 days. The production of this system with P. monodon was 13.7.21t.ha-1.yr-1.:~
