Abstract
The metabolism of tritiated 20-hydroxyecdysone was investigated in vitellogenic females of Labidura riparia. It proceeds mainly through conjugation reactions, in particular through acetylation at C-3 and phosphate ester formation at C-2. The acetylphosphate derivative was the major conjugate found in different tissues. This ecdysteroid derivative appears to be present as the major endogenous conjugate in hemolymph of vitellogenic females but only as a minor one in ovaries.
