Abstract
From 1988 to 1992 observations were made on a concentration of Slavonian Grebes present in spring on the eastern part of Lake Grevelingen, Delta area, SW-Netherlands. The first Slavonian Grebes arrive here in late February and the latest leave in early May. Peak numbers occur between mid-March and mid-April, with a maxi- mum of 34 birds on April 9, 1989. During their stay, the birds moult to summer-plumage. The area has previously been identified as a summer staging area of Red-necked Grebes Podiceps grisegena and a late-summer moulting site of Black-necked Grebes Podiceps nigricollis.
