Abstract
    Pituitaty adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) is sugested to control the activity of pituitary cells. Here we demonstrate that PACAP acts directly on gonadotrope cells increasing LH release, modulating the action of gonadotropin Releasing hormone (GnRH) and inducing mobilization of free cytosolyc calcium ((Ca2+)i). PACAP could play a physiological role in the regulation of the hypothalamicpituitary-gonadal axis.
