Abstract
The echinoderms in about 1200 bottom samples were identified and counted. Those in 700 samples were also measured and, partly, weighed. Trawl and dredge catches were examined. The distribution and, when possible, life history of each species in the North Sea is described and discussed. The number of species and specimens and their weight per unit of area is investigated. A rough estimate of productivity is made.
