This identification guide on the storm-petrels of the North Atlantic is the culmination of many years of at-sea observations by the authors. It is the first in what is planned to be a four-part series on regular and vagrant bird species of the North Atlantic. Multimedia Identification Guide to North Atlantic Seabirds: Storm-petrels & Bulwer's Petrel is accompanied by 2 DVDs with over 120 minutes of both at-sea footage and, for some species, in-hand and at-colony footage. The DVDs follow the contents of the book, allowing cross-referencing, and form an excellent preparation for a seawatch or a pelagic trip. The DVDs are in PAL format (multiregional). Revisions for this edition include advances in the separation of Atlantic white-bellied Fregettas illustrated with photographs, photographs of all four proposed taxa of the Band-rumped complex including additional discussion in the captions, updates on records of vagrants, map revisions based on new information, extra new photographs, photo guide for Gray-backed Storm-petrel so Multimedia Identification Guide to North Atlantic Seabirds: Storm-petrels & Bulwer's Petrel covers all storm-petrels that frequent the Atlantic, plus other minor revisions. |
