Taxonomy of the Herpetocypridinae (Ostracoda, Cyprididae)

| Abstract |
Eleven genera and 3 tribes (one new: Psychrodromini n. trib.) are retained in the subfamily Herpetocypridinae; revised and amended diagnoses for all of these taxa are given. Comparisons between type material and new collections shows that Gesa Hartmann, 1957 and Parastenocypris Hartmann, 1964 are synonyms of Chrissia Hartmann, 1957. The taxonomic validity of several other species of Parastenocypris and of Stenocypris is discussed. |
