Abstract |
The first part of the paper gives a general and schematic overview of the palaeogeography of the present-day peri-Atlantic regions from the early Ordovician up to the late Devonian. The second part focuses on the outstanding problems concerning the relations that have existed between the different parts of western Europe. In both cases, diverging interpretations are discussed by comparing the results of sedimentological and palaeontological studies with those coming from other branches of Earth Sciences. |
