Abstract
A large proportion of waste is found in the oceans, at huge depths for anything that flows and on the bank for anything that floats. Some is even called "mermaid's tears"! This book will enlighten the general public on the substances entering the sea, their nature, their breakdown into micro-particles and their impacts on the fauna and the coastal activities. It will provide information on their effects on the environment, health, fishing and navigation, amongst other things.
