Abstract
Different potential means of introduction of alien species of molluscs into the Mediterranean Sea are presented. They are illustrated by our personal data. Emphasis is put on the lessepsian species present in the Gulf of Iskenderun (Turkey) and adjacent areas (list of the species of the Eastern Mediterranean enclosed at the end of the publication).
