Abstract
Atherospio disticha gen. et sp. nov. is described from a shallow (27 m) mud habitat in a Scottish sea loch. The main characteristic of the genus is the possession of aristate spines in the neuropodia of setigers 4 and 5. The generic affinities of the genus are discussed. Atherospio is most closely related to Pygospiopsis Blake, 1983.
