Abstract
The Horned or Curled octopus Eledone cirrhosa (Lamarck, 1798) is here recorded for the first time from the Eastern Mediterranean off Israel. Four specimens were recently caught from depths of 100-120 m off Ashdod. This is only the second record Eledone cirrhosa from the Levantine Sea. It had been recorded previously only from the Mediterranean coast off Antalya, Turkey.
