Abstract
    An important pelagigic tunicate material collected in the equatorial portion of Atlantic Ocean at some distance off the African coasts during several cruises undertaken by O.R.S.T.O.M. Centre at Pointe Noire, has been examined. Fifteen species of Salps have been found and their distribution throughout the zone considered according to the water qualities (temperature, salinity). Thaliacean fauna is resulting of three kinds of influx to the area.
