Abstract
    It is confirmed that chitin is present in the shell of mictic, amictic and dormant eggs of several species of Rotifers. These shells are constituted by a variable number of envelopes. It is noted that chitin is regularly and specifically present in the most internal one. The others envelopes seem to be entirely devoid of chitin.
