Abstract
Seasonal changes in chorophyl and Zooplankton concentrations have been studied in relation with biochemical content (protein, lipid and carbohydrate). Zooplankton biomass shows a peak in spring and another one in autumn in the offshore area and only one peak in spring in the coastal area. Zooplankton and phytoplankton are distributed in two patches (zooplankton offshore and phytoplankton coastal). The maximal lipid content was observed in the central area between the two patches suggesting a high nutritional activity in this area. Lipid content of zooplankton is increasing from spring to autumn and decreasing in the end of winter, just before the spring bloom.
