Abstract
This research has been prompted by the observation according to which the passing of a motor boat near a spawning place of Cyrpinids, increases the water turbidity by bringing again in suspension the bottom sediments and brings about a muddy water wave on the eggs. Starting with an artificial reproduction from 26 genitors of roaches (Rutilus rutilus L.), we divided the obtained sexual products in two equal parts having received each a differential treatment : sprinkling either with clear water, either with turbid water (loaded with sediments). These handlings have been realized at three stages of the development : at the time of fertilization, half an hour later and twenty four hours later. The combination of these various experimental treatments gave us eight independent groups whose embryonic development took place in the natural environment. Statistical analysis of the number of larvae hatched in each group shows that the first differential treatment applied at the time of eggs fertilization, very significantly reduces the hatching rate.
