Abstract
Several colonies of Pherusella brevituba Soule, 1951 were collected at Ustica Island (Sicily) on Posidonia oceanica leaves at a depth of 10-28m. Our material consists of chitinous unilaminar encrusting zoaria and autozooids with a rectangular aperture, much wider than long, situated at the extremity of a very short quadrangular peristomium, and 23 tentacles. At the beginning of development the zoarium shows two series of zoo ids opposing with their proximal part. Up to now this exotic species was only known from the Pacific coast of North America.
