Abstract
Only one species of mysids, Meterythrops microphthalmus W.M. Tattersall, 1951, was mentioned before 2010 at depths more 200 m in the north half of the Sea of Japan. 773 specimens of mysids from 14 samples and 10 stations were collected with the help of the epibenthic sledge (EBS) in August-September 2010 from the continental slope and in the deep-sea basin at depths 455–3347 m of the Sea of Japan near the Primorye coast during the Russian-German expedition SoJaBio on board the R/V Akademik M.A.Lavrentyev (cruise 51). Seven species of mysids, Holmesiella anomala Ortmann, 1908; Meterythrops muranous sp. nov.; Pseudomma truncatum Smith, 1879; P. izuensis Murano, 1966; P. okiyamai Murano, 1974; Stilomysis major W.M. Tattersall, 1951 and Mysidella orientalis Murano, 2002, were discovered together with Meterythrops microphthalmus with the help of this new for north part of the Japan Sea sampling method in this collections.
