Abstract
    The Sea: Its History and Romance is a 4 set volume by Frank Bowen. A deluxe history of sailing and voyaging. In sixteen parts bound in four volumes, they cover the history of voyaging to 1875, concentrating on the achievements of Great Britain. This set is a relatively early title by Bowen, a well-known and popular maritime author, who published titles such as Ships for All, and as editor of Merchant Ships of the World.
