Abstract
A simple computer-assisted, non-mathematical procedure for emulating sagittal sections of Gastropod shells is described. Examples illustrate that the final "shell" shapes can largely be predicted from the values of the construction parameters. The problem of the meaning of traditional descriptions of the shape of shells is briefly addressed.
