| Abstract |
Aimed at the general public, this practical book has been designed to be accessible to anyone who wants to discover the coastal flora. A collaboration between several managers and coastal environment experts, it covers more than 300 species found on the French coast from Camargue to Roussillon. Each is described and illustrated with one or more photographs to make identification easier. Each species entry indicates its size, type, family, flowering, habitat etc. with species classified by colour. The plants listed in this book represent a significant part of the species found from the beach to the high rear-coastal lagoons. The guide covers flora from all, often very different, backgrounds, which make up the coastline, and thus make up the ecological and scenic wealth of the sandy Mediterranean coast. Usable by all, regardless of their botanical knowledge level, this book aims to help its readers discover the flora of this natural environment, but also to assist in its management and conservation. |
