Abstract
The current review assessed the status and distribution of the Northern Stone Crab Lithodes maja in Irish and UK waters. The species has rarely been recorded southwards of latitude 55°N. The southernmost authenticated record of L. maja from the NE Atlantic was recently recorded from the North West Bank (50.11°N, 08.59°W), S Celtic Sea, c.190 km SSE of Cork Harbour, Ireland.
