Abstract |
Vertebral deformities are reported in fivebeard rockling Ciliata mustela (Lotidae) collected from Masfjorden, Western Norway. Four abdominal and four caudal vertebrae were involved in the anomalies. A hyperostotic haemal spine was observed. In addition, other minor anomalies were noticed in the abnormal specimen. It is possible that either genetic and/or epigenetic factors may have been implicated in this anomaly. |
