Abstract
Eolian movement of beach-sand becomes important along the Belgian coast as soon as strong winds of at least 6m/sec strike on dry and loose beach-sand. The required conditions occur rather in the spring season, when strong northeasterly winds, and direct insolation are frequent, than under the dominant but usually rainy westerlies. On the basis of this viewpoint, an attempt is made to explain same morphological characteristics of beach and dunebelt.
