Abstract
This paper provides a review of the studies on bivalve chromosomes since 1992, in order to gather available data and to highlight the recent progress in different fields of cytogenetics: karyotype and chromosome markers, genome size, aneuploidy, natural and induced polyploidy, and hybridization.
