Abstract
At the Zeebrugge harbour (Belgium) a cross-section of the N.W.-breakwater has been instrumented. The major objective is the study of physical processes related to the behaviour of a prototype rubble mound breakwater in random wave conditions. This field monitoring system is developed to a world-wide unique system with respect to the infrastructure available at, Zeebrugge, the instrumentation installed on site, and the data management developed. In this contribution data acquisition, data analysis and dissemination of the results of the Zeebrugge project are described. Four major consecutive steps in the data management are discussed in more detail. The particular experience gained from the work carried out in this project (MAS02-CT92-0023) is presented.
