Abstract
Four new species of the genus Archilina Ax are described from tropical areas: A. euglypta n. sp. and A. batiae n. sp. from Red Sea; A. stylifera n. sp. and A. opisthobursa n. sp. from the Carribean (Puerto Rico). The karyotypes of all species are given: three of them have karyotypes derived from the basic set of the family Monocelididae. A sister-species relationship is proposed for the Carribean species based on the backwater position of the bursa. Because of this feature, the genus diagnosis is modified. The two Carribean species are considered as a separate evolutionary line within the genus Archilina
