Abstract
    A review of swordfish fishing, processing, trade, and consumption by countries in Africa and the Middle East. This document examines historical developments through the mid-1990s and provides some indication of future trends in swordfish fishing by various African and Middle Eastern fishing nations. The Africa and Middle East volume provides readers with detailed information about: fishing grounds, catches, fleet, fishing gear, ports, processing, trade (mostly exports), consumption, research, bycatch, joint ventures, international relations, and future trends.
