Abstract
A detailed description of the nervous system of D.remanei is given. Data were obtained from histological sections compared with silver impregnated whole mounts. Cephalic organs located near the protocerebron are described but homologization with any similar structure among other Crustacea was found impossible. The main cerebral center topography and the presence of free tritocerebral commissure are established. Innervation of cephalic appendages are shown and the nervous pathways are followed from each related ganglion. A graphic reconstruction of ganglia and nerve arrangement is drawn. Evidence of a double commissure connecting the thoraco-abdominal chain ganglia is given. Absence of ventral chain ganglia in the last 2 metameres is confirmed. Innervation of thoracical legs, metameric glands and ventral glands has been revealed as well as that of the 2 last segments and the uropods.
