Abstract
The use of a transect permits to show the vertical zonation of armorican Littorinidae. The comparative ecology of L. neritoides and L. saxatilis permits to show several essential facts: -in L. neritoides, the reproductive period is extended from Nov to May, whereas L. saxatilis is able to reproduce all along the yr, with 2 maximums (Feb and Sept); the numerical equality of sexes is realized in L. saxatilis whereas in L. neritoides, the sex-ratio is in favour of female (S. R. male/female = 1:2); -in L. saxatilis, ovoviviparous spp, the young live near adults, but in L. neritoides, oviparous spp, the juvenile forms settle at an inferior level, moreover ascend gradually, on a distance of some decimeters, in direction to high levels where the adults live; - in those Littorinidae spp, the population structure is polymodal.
