Abstract
The diverse aspects of the biology of Hemioniscus balani B. that are closely related to the singular life style adopted by the parasite throughout the female phase (female nourishment, morphological transformation at the time of sexual inversion, female growth, embryonic nutrition and growth) are accompanied by noteworthy adaptations. These are described in detail.
