Abstract
Planktonic samples from two different areas have been carried out with high frequency (15 to 30 mn) and have been analysed and compared. The general features of a harbour area, on the one hand, and a neritic area, on the other hand, were considered with regard to the planktonic flora and fauna. The phytoplankton assemblages are not substantially different between the two areas. As regards the zooplankton, Acartia clausi, Oithona nana and the benthoplanktonic Harpacticoida seem to be characteristic of the harbour area, whereas Podon intermedius, the Coryceids and Clausocalanus sp. mostly occur in the neritic area investigated. The values of phosphate, nitrate, salinity and N/P ratio exhibit large differences between the two areas. The important short term variations of the planktonic components which were observed probably arise from a non homogeneous micro-repartition of the organisms in the harbour areas.
