Abstract
    R. polystigma is a Mediterranean endemic species, caught off Tunisian coasts but most frequently off northern shore. Sexual maturity is reached by the males by 34 cm of disc width and 53 cm of total length and by the females by 40 cm of disc width and 63 cm of total length. Reproduction would take place all the year round but is subjected to season changes; females with egg-capsule are chiefly caught during winter. Fecundity would reach from 20 to 62 eggs-capsules per year; there is a relation between size of R. polystigma and fecundity. Egg-capsule average size is 4 . 64 cm of length (without horns); 3 . 54 cm of large and 9 . 4 g in average.
