Abstract
Five species of Colossendeidae are recorded from depths between 994 and 4411m in the Bay of Biscay and the entrance of the English Channel. The type-material of Colossendeis leptorhynchus Hoek, 1881 and C. bicincta Schimkewitsch, 1893, as well as the recorded material of C. gigas-leptorhynchus , has been revised. A key to the European species of Colossendeis is provided.
