Abstract
    Different data (body proportions, number of vertebrae, structure of otoliths) obtained by the study of 43 samples of O. barbatum and 35 of O. rochei, captured at Blanes (Mar Catalana) are compared. Four new capture sites for O. rochei in the west Mediterranean Sea (three for Mar Catalana and one for Alboran Sea) are also indicated.
