Abstract
The identification, in the south of the Bay of Biscay of the main components of E. dumortieri and E. pilosa epifauna facies has allowed new observations on the associated fauna (Polychaeta Syllidae and Mollusca Opisthobranchia). This facies is principally extended on medium sands or fine sands, around the Gironde estuary. It shows a set of conditions connected with areas subjected to the transport or deposit of materials of terrigenous origin. Its evolution is marked, from the beginning of summer to autumn, by the progressive passage from hydroid to bryozoan.
