Abstract
    This study has been carried out on a sample of 22 individuals (19 adults, 3 juveniles) of Myxine glutinosa L. (Cyclostomata - Myxinoidea). The knowledge of the brain weight (S) leads to determination of the brain-body weight coefficient of allometry belonging to this species. Its numerical value (0,402) is discussed in comparison with those previously known for a lot of various species of Vertebrates; it gives to the Hagfish a surprising localisation in our classification which decreases from Chondrichthyes (0,566) to Mammals (0.23). The second part of the study is a detailed analysis of the volume of the main subidivisions of the brain (i.e. olfactory bulbs, cerebral hemispheres, diencephalon, tectum mesencephalicum + medulla oblongata).
