| Abstract |
The bivalve hinge, a complex and dynamic structure, is subjected to many transformations, especially during the first month of its existence. In these conditions and, also, owing to the intimate relations and the interpenetration occurring between the dorsal epithelial cells and the hinge, the pallial isthums is not well defined. To have a better identification of the pallial isthmus, we have realized a series of histological studies on Ruditapes philippinarum from the metamorphosis stage to the adult. |
