Abstract |
The coast of the state of Oaxaca in the Mexican Pacific region approximately delimits the Mexican and Panamanian (tropical) biogeographical provinces. In this region, many faunal groups, such as the isopods, are not well known. The material, which is elaborated upon in this note, was collected at the end of 1981. Three new species are described: Anopsilana oaxaca, Dunoides crenulatus and Dynoides saldanai. It is the first report of Striella balani outside of its type-locality in Isla Noas, Panama. The authors also report on an extension of the known area of distribution of Parasymmerus annamaryae (from Manzanillo to Oaxaca) as well as on the presence of Excirolana braziliensis, which has a wide range of distribution. |
