Abstract
Tabellaria flocculosa (Roth) Kuetz and Tabellaria fenestrata (Lyngbye) Kuetz are present in the West of France. The first species is most frequent and very variable, colonies disposed in zig-zag, valves with marginal spines and rudimentary septa opposed to normal septa. The second, less frequent, has linear colonies, marginal spines not evident, no rudimentary septa.
