Abstract
During the summers from 1976 to 1979, the prospections of Sphaeroma serratum natural populations, on the Breton coast from Lorient to Saint-Nazaire, enabled the counting of 77 stations where 105,500 individuals were collected on a part of coast about 210 km long. While corroborating the genetic complexity of local populations, the analysis of the results prove some important particularities: except on the Wild Coast of Quiberon peninsula where they are particularly numerous, albicans are slightly represented; discretum , very numerous, are prevailing by the rocky capes (Sarzeau, Saint-Jacques, Penlan, Penestin, Pen Be, Le Croisic); lunulatum and ornatum mutants, for which correlations in the distribution of frequencies were pointed out, are well represented; signatum and rubrum , for which some correlation in the distribution of frequencies is also stated, are numerous in sheltered stations (baie de Quiberon, golfe du Morbihan, baie de Pouliguen).
