Abstract
Hydrological and planktological studies were performed in the Loire Estuary in 1981-1982. The hydrological regime of the river produces variations in the seasonal cycle of the plankton, while spring- and neap-tides, through suspended matter and water mixing, cause different patterns of spatial distribution of plankton.
