Abstract
A Melinna palmata population, settled on sedimentologically stable bottoms rich in silt and clay fraction and organic matter, has been studied in Santander Bay. The population dynamics was studied in terms of a bimodal cohort that receives juveniles continuously between April and November. An AFDW production of 2.92 gr/m super(2)/year and a P/B ratio of 2.86 was found. The therorical growth rate, obtained from animal maximum size, set a lifespan of 2.5 years. Temporal dynamics of this species (biomass and density) shows high variability.
